Why wrestle?
Wrestling is a great sport that develops agility, strength, and mental toughness.  Wrestling is a great sport to build a “base” of athleticism for other sports.  Unlike some sports, a player’s size is not a limitation because there are many weight classes.  It’s also a lot of fun!

Eligibility
Wrestlers must either attend CAPS Schools, live in the CAPS district, or get permission from the CWC executive board.

All Levels:
Equipment Needed: Wrestling shoes and head gear.  Parents can buy them online or at a sporting goods store. We do have a limited amount of donated shoes and headgear that we loan out. We recommend the Cliff Keen Tornado headgear in youth or adult size depending on the size of the wrestler.   If a wrestler doesn’t have shoes yet they can wrestle in clean socks to begin.  We may even have a pair of donated shoes.  Ask at practice.  Middle School wrestlers will be loaned head gear. All wrestlers will be issued a singlet that must be returned.

Fundraising: We expect wrestlers from all levels to participate in our fundraising efforts.

Hygiene: Wrestlers should have clean clothes for practice.  They should wash or sanitize their hands after practice.  They should shower immediately after practice and meets.  See your doctor right away if the wrestler develops any unusual skin conditions.

Sickness: Wrestling is a close contact sport, if your child is sick we ask that you not send a wrestler to practice or meets.

Transportation: Parents must transport kids to meets for all levels, including Middle School.  Parents must supervise kids at meets if they are below the Middle School level.

Refunds: Refunds will be given up until the first practice if requested.
